Introduction

In Los Santos, the city of celebrities, drugs are common supplies bought and sought by everyone in the city for their “therapeutic” effects:

Which is why selling drugs as a job is a very viable way to make money, if you know how to manage your stock, customers and drug suppliers!

How to become a Drug Dealer ?

If you want to become a drug dealer, you’ll have to :

  1. Be level 5+ on the server
  2. Head to any of the 8 drugs suppliers drug_shop
  3. Press E / RIGHT RIGHT while being near the NPC Drug supplier to switch to the drug dealer job.

You are now a Drug Dealer ! Congratulations !

Buy supplies to sell

Once you become a drug dealer, you gain access to an additional inventory called the “Job stock” which allows to buy and store the drugs you can sell to NPCs and players, with a way higher capacity than regular inventory. (20kg capacity)

Main drugs

If you buy them directly in your inventory (not in stock), you can use those drugs to affect some of your stats positively for PvP, with the drawback of some side-effects.

If you have drugs in your stock, you can transfer it to your inventory from the stock menu to use it.

There are three types of drugs you can buy, use and sell, from cheapest to most expensive: Heroin, Meth and Cocaine.

Each of these drugs can be sold to NPCs players from 1g to 20g per deal, depending on which drug spot you are selling at.

As for players you can sell up to 500g to them per deal.

You can purchase each of those kind of drugs at a Drug Supplier drug_shop: each drug supplier selling only a kind of drug each with varying prices:

Heroin is the cheapest drug you can buy but also gives the least profit out of the three drugs. Heroin can be used while it is in your inventory for PvP, it will heal a % of your health per second depending on how much heroin you take at once.

  • ⬆ Heals up to 3%/HP per second
  • ⬇ Takes a while to consume + small chance of falling over while walking + Modified walking animation & speed (slower walking speed)

Weed

There are 8 different strands of weed available to buy, which are sold at 3 weed dispensers weed_dispenser around the city.

Unlike the other drugs, weed can be sold to NPCs from 5g to 100g per deal or up to 1000g to players per deal

Unlike the other drugs, the 8 weed strains will only give you cool visual effects that can give you some advantages for PvP (better visibility at night for example)

Sell to NPCs

Once you have your supplies of drugs, the next step would be to sell them for profit by going to one of the 31 drug spots drug_point on the map, to sell them to NPCs that will spawn there.

Once you are in a drug spot location, you will see a blue circle on the spot: it’s the area in which you will be able to sell your drugs:

When you are standing on this circle some NPCs will start spawning around the spot and come straight to you to buy your drugs every ≈45 seconds.

The NPCs will then ask to buy a certain quantity of one of the 11 drugs with the price you set for this quantity: a prompt will appear at the top-left of your screen.

If you want to accept the deal, you can then press Y / hold UP UP : This will cause a selling animation to happen,

During the sell animation, you can move but not get in a vehicle or use any weapon / item while the animation is playing, leaving you vulnerable.

Selling drugs can fail for multiple reasons:

  • Not enough drugs: if you don’t have enough of the drug the NPC wants to buy, they won’t deal this with you
    • In some spots with multiple drugs to sell, they could instead ask for another type of drug to deal: press Y / hold UP UP to accept the new deal.
  • Drug price too high: If your custom drug prices are too high compared to market price, NPCs can reject your offer.
    • You can try to negotiate by pressing Y / holding UP UP again to send a counter-offer (lower price).
  • You took too much time answering their deal: they “won’t be interested” anymore and will leave.
  • Too many drug dealers: only up to 4 players can stay on the same drug spot. Anymore than that and no NPC will buy drugs until it goes back to 4 players or less on the spot.
  • There is a dead body nearby: NPCs won’t come to buy drugs if there is a dead body nearby. This includes both an NPC or a dead player’s corpse.
  • There is a shootout nearby: If players are shooting near the drug spot, NPCs won’t spawn. They will only spawn when there hasn’t been any fired shot for a while (≈30 seconds)

Setting custom prices

By default you have the market price set for all drugs: this means that you will sell your drugs at the market price, which also means less profit but you are 100% guaranteed to sell your drugs at every drug spot.

You can set custom prices for all drug types & quantities, from a range of -75% to +150% of the default market price.

To do so, you have to access your stock then choose the drug for which you want to change the prices:

  • Press M / hold VIEW VIEW to access the CNRV General Menu, then go to “Job Menu”

You can then modify your prices to whatever price you wish your drugs to be sold at.

NPCs will only buy up to 20g at once (100g for weed strains), so prices for quantities above are only for other players trades.

Snitching

During the day (5:00am to 8:00pm in-game time) NPCs will sometimes snitch (report your activity) to the police randomly, which means they will call cops players on you. It will give you the Drug trafficking felony.

Once you have been snitched by an NPC or spotted selling drugs by a police officer on a drug spot, you cannot sell on that spot for 48 minutes and you won’t be able to see the blue circle at the drug spot.

Once the 48 minutes cooldown is over, you can sell on the drug spot again as usual.

If a police officer is close enough while you’re selling to an NPC, you will get the Drug trafficking felony just like when an NPC snitches on you.

As soon as the selling animation starts, cops can taze and arrest you, so watch out for hidden cops especially on hardcore servers!

Sell to players

Selling drugs to players is way easier than selling to NPCs: all you have to do is get close to a non-emergency player then press Y / hold UP UP to offer your drug dealer services:

Players will be able to buy drugs, giving you money and some XP from selling it.

You can also call drug dealers using your phone.

Stock / inventory management

You can transfer up to some drug to your inventory by pressing TAB / Y Y while on the drug stock / drug dealer job menu to use the drugs for PvP.

Warehouse

You can also put your supplies inside warehouses owned_warehouse to keep them safe / avoid getting them seized by cops if you get arrested. You can then retrieve them later when you are ready to sell or use them.

Tips & Tricks

  • Avoid selling on hardcore servers: there is no map blips there, it’s way easier for cops to catch you selling drugs: hence why it’s recommended to sell on regular servers.

  • Buy drugs at the highest amount (1kg): it cost less money per gram to buy drugs at higher quantities!

    • You’ll need a Warehouseowned_warehouse to store the excess drugs, to avoid everything from being seized

  • Sell with friends: drug spots aren’t a safe place to be on the server, with risks such as cops trying to catch you selling, criminals trying to pickpocket you or rival drug dealers fighting for the spots: it’s better to have friends to cover each other!

  • Be efficient with spots: go between the best spots for each drugs, especially for cocaine as the spots that sell mostly cocaine are pretty rare, and as a consequence have a lot of competition from other drug dealers and cops watching them.

  • No snitches at night time: during night time, NPCs won’t snitch you, so no chance of losing a spot if there are no cops around.
