¶ Introduction
Making the choice to protect and serve the community is honourable and courageous. As a Police Officer, you will get a paycheck every day ($32,000).
Before even thinking about starting your duty, you need to read the CNRV rules.
¶ How to become a Police Officer ?
If you want to become a Police Officer, you'll have to :
- be Level 7+ on the server.
- go to a Police Station
- speak to the NPC and pass the “Police Exam” (which is simply a few questions on the rules).
You need to get 25 correct answers to become a police officer ! - speak to the NPC again and select “Switch to police officer”
There is a limit of police officers on the server (35% of online players) !
You are now a Police Officer ! Congratulations !
¶ What should I take to go on patrol ?
Before going on patrol, you must take the appropriate equipment from the Police Ammunation
:
The body armor will protect you from projectiles and falls. You'll become more resistant during gun fights.
● Light Armor » Applies 25% of protection
● Standard Armor » Applies 50% of protection
● Heavy Armor » Applies 100% of protection
● Medkit » Regenerates 100% of your health
● Bandage » Regenerates 20% (up to 80%) of your health
● Codeine » Legal drug that slowly regenerates your health
● Pistol Mark II » It's an upgraded 9mm pistol, mostly used by cops
● Carbine Rifle » A semi-automatic rifle provided to every police officer in Los Santos. It inflicts significant damage but has a very low rate of fire.
Don't forget to take ammo !
● Stun Gun » An electrical gun that allows you to stun suspects, it can also force player to get out of their vehicles.
● Nightstick » Often used by police to control a crowd.
● Flashbang » A grenade designed to blind suspects (can affect all players).
● Tear Gas » A grenade designed to slowly damage a suspect (only affects civilians, suspects and you - does not affect Paramedics and other police officers).
● Window Punching Tool » Used to break vehicle's windows and unlocking locked vehicles in order to arrest criminals staying inside Bulletproof vehicles.

You can find and wear different uniforms on CNRV and you can mix them up to create your perfect outfit !

In the parking of every Police Station you can find patrol cars. These cars are default vehicles and are not very resistant or fast.

¶ Police work
Now that you are a Police Officer, you now have access to the job menu M which lets you :
- Open the radio menu
- Calls → Allows you to see previous calls (will put a waypoint to the crime scene when clicked)
- Suspect name and ID
- Location
- Crime/Felony
- Time since the crime/felony has been committed
- Customize your dispatch filter :
- All calls - You will receive every call
- Violent crimes only - You will only receive violent crime calls
- Major felonies only - You will only receive major felony calls
- No calls - You will not receive calls
- Customize your ped voice
¶ Work against criminal activities
There is many activities that suspects love doing everyday : your duty as a Police Officer is to stop them from doing these activities.
- Robberies : Criminals like to rob stores and nightclubs, they can make a lot of money from that, but they also traumatize a lot of innocent civilians…
- Drug dealing : We can easily say that some criminals are selling death in our street, you can catch them.
- Illegal Exporting : Stealing cars and exporting them to make some money : it's always in the Docks (Elysian Island).
- Scrapping Vehicles : Stealing cars and scrapping them at various scrapyards across the city.
- Pickpocketing : Those criminals are stealing money from the pockets of innocent civilian (or other players).
- ATM Hacking : Some criminals are working with a famous hacker who sells them little devices to hack ATMs… You can easily seize those device and prevent them from stealing money.
- Shootouts : Often under the influence of drugs, some criminals don't hesitate to shoot on sight… It's a very dangerous situation that requires teamplay from the police force.
- Fleeing suspects : High speed chases that allows you to ram their vehicles or simply a foot chase which will put your cardio to the test.
You can find criminals by Responding to emergency calls or simply patrolling in the streets.
¶ Responding to emergency calls
You'll receive an alert with the type of crime/felony committed, the suspect name and id, the location and some details (vehicle name, color , …).
Responding to calls using Y will give you a GPS point.
You'll earn 5XP points once you arrive on scene.
¶ Catching drug dealers
Some players can play as Drug Dealer : they are selling drugs to NPC's to gain money and XP, but as you know drugs are bad and as a Police Officer, your duty is to fight against that.
To catch a drug dealer :
- You need to wait for the dealer to make a deal with an NPC.
- You need to be close enough of the deal to trigger the “Drug Trafficking” felony.
- You will have to arrest them (you can ram at low speed with your vehicle or taze them if you are on foot)
Sometimes, some drugs dealers are already wanted on their spot, you can simply arrest them.
Using an unmarked vehicle will help you : civilians won't see your marker/name as blue until you get close enough or turn on your siren.
¶ Encounter with criminals
¶ Arresting a suspect
The first duty of a police officer is to arrest criminals. To arrest a suspect you need to be near the criminal and press X to handcuff them.
- 2★ : You can get $15,000 by arresting them (bonus : $6,750 | assisting the arrest : $4,500)
- 3★ : You can get $30,000 by arresting them (bonus : $13,500 | assisting the arrest : $9,000)
- 4★ : You can get $50,000 by arresting them (bonus : $22,500 | assisting the arrest : $15,000)
- 5★ : You can get $75,000 by arresting them (bonus : $33,750 | assisting the arrest : $22,500)
If the suspects bounty is higher than $33,750 you will receive the bounty instead of the bonus.
The bonus is granted when you transport the suspect by yourself to a Police Station.
It's better to use the tazer on a suspect to stun and handcuff them instead of killing them (you'll earn more money)
Keep in mind that the suspect can resist the arrest once every ≈20 seconds !

¶ Force entry in Warehouse
You are able to forcefully enter warehouses if you spot a suspect enter. If a wanted suspect knocks at someone's warehouse and they let them enter, you're also able to enter that player's warehouse.

¶ Arrest menu
The arrest menu, accessible via X is a menu reserved to Police Officers that allows you to :
- Search : when you search a suspect, you can find if they have illegal items, weapons, ammunition or drugs and seize them to earn some money.
- Follow : the suspect will follow you.
- Enter vehicle : you can place the suspect inside your car and transport them to the nearest Police Station (you'll earn more money - see Arresting a suspect)
- Quick Arrest : the quick arrest is a function that lets you call an NPC transport unit to handle the suspect. You will not get the bonus (so less money than transporting the suspect by yourself).
- Suggest bribe : suggesting a bribe will send a notification to the suspect and ask them to pay you for their freedom.
¶ Bribes
The criminals can give you cash to lose their wanted level : you can accept, deny or ignore their offer. When a suspect wants to bribe you, you'll see a notification on your left corner, and when you open the bribing menu, you can :
- Accept the bribe » The criminal will lose his wanted level, you'll lose 5XP but earn some money.
- Accept the bribe and share it with other officers » The criminal will lose his wanted level, you'll lose 5XP but you and officers near you will earn some money.
- Refuse the bribe » You'll gain some XP, the criminal will get a felony : “Attempted bribing” (non-violent felony)
- Closing the bribe menu » Nothing will happen, but it allows the possibility for the suspect to make a bigger bribe…
You can also suggest them to bribe with the arrest menu or simply by opening your interaction menu near them with E.
The money a suspect can give you depends on his wanted level :
- 2★ : between $5,000 to $100,000
- 3★ : between $10,000 to $250,000
- 4★ : between $15,000 to $500,000
⚠️ They are cases in which they cannot bribe :
- The suspect is a 5★ most wanted.
- The suspect got revived by an EMS (auto-cuffed).
- The suspect already bribed you less than 10 minutes ago.
¶ Takedowns
Some suspects will not give you any other choice than to use your lethal weapon against them.
- 2★ : You can get $0 by killing them (assist : $0)
- 3★ : You can get $15,000 by killing them (assist : $4,500)
- 4★ : You can get $25,000 by killing them (assist : $7,500)
- 5★ : You can get $37,500 by killing them (assist : $11,250)
If the suspects bounty is higher than $37,500, you will receive the bounty.
According to the CNRV full rules, you are allowed to shoot a suspect only in few cases :
- Self-defense, defense of other cops, and defense of non-dangerous players
- Most wanted suspects 5★, unless they are surrendering or cuffed
- Suspects who are seen holding a firearm, any type of blade, or brass knuckles
- Suspects who committed a violent crime in your presence (against a player or an NPC)
- Suspects who committed a violent crime very recently and you saw the call, the log of crimes, or you were informed by another player
- Suspects who are obviously together with other armed or dangerous suspects
- Suspects who are
- fleeing with a boat or an aircraft
- swimming or underwater
- camping on ladders out of stun range
- impossible to stun and cuff
⚠️ You are not allowed to shoot a suspect who is surrendering on their knees !

¶ Radio
As a police officer, you have access to a radio which allow you to speak with other Police Officers and Paramedics
To catch criminals you need to work as a team with others.
If you don't want to speak in the voice chat, you can send text messages in radio channels: prefix your message with an exclamation mark !
Example : ! I need backup in Grove Street, 1 active shooter
You can access this menu via your job menu (M → Job menu) or with the /radio command.
You can turn it on/off and select the volume of the radio inside this menu.
You can also switch between channels :
1 - Emergency (Los Santos) » Default radio channel when you are patrolling in Los Santos.
2 - Emergency (Sandy Shores) » Default radio channel when you are patrolling in Sandy Shores.
3 - Emergency (Paleto Bay) » Default radio channel when you are patrolling in Paleto Bay.
4 - Alt #1 (any language) » This radio channel can be used by non-english speakers.
5 - Alt #2 (any language) » This radio channel can be used by non-english speakers.
6 - Reserved 1 » This radio channel will only appear if you are Level 20+.
7 - Reserved 2 » This radio channel will only appear if you are Level 20+.
¶ Tips & Tricks
→ Play with someone : it's the best way to catch every criminal who wants to resist arrest.
→ Use the radio : listen to the radio to know where other officers need help and ask for help when you need it.
→ Be prepared with your tazer out : when another officer is arresting the suspect, they can resist arrest.
→ Turn your emergency lights on when you park : your vehicle can't be impounded if your emergency lights are on.
→ Turn off your siren : you can use the /siren command to turn off your siren.
→ Always restock before going on patrol and after dying.
