Before even thinking about starting your duty, you need to read the CNRV rules.

Before going on patrol, you must take the appropriate equipment from the Police Ammunation :
The body armor will protect you from projectiles and falls. You'll become more resistant during gun fights.
● Light Armor » Applies 25% of protection
● Standard Armor » Applies 50% of protection
● Heavy Armor » Applies 100% of protection
● Medkit » Regenerates 100% of your health
● Bandage » Regenerates 20% (up to 80%) of your health
● Codeine » Legal drug that slowly regenerates your health
● Pistol Mark II » It's an upgraded 9mm pistol, mostly used by cops
● Carbine Rifle » A semi-automatic rifle provided to every police officer in Los Santos. It inflicts significant damage but has a very low rate of fire.
Don't forget to take ammo !
● Stun Gun » An electrical gun that allows you to stun suspects, it can also force player to get out of their vehicles.
● Nightstick » Often used by police to control a crowd.
● Flashbang » A grenade designed to blind suspects (can affect all players).
● Tear Gas » A grenade designed to slowly damage a suspect (only affects civilians, suspects and you - does not affect Paramedics and other police officers).
● Window Punching Tool » Used to break vehicle's windows and unlocking locked vehicles in order to arrest criminals staying inside Bulletproof vehicles.

In the parking of every Police Station you can find patrol cars. These cars are default vehicles and are not very resistant or fast.

Now that you are a Police Officer, you now have access to the job menu M which lets you :
There is many activities that suspects love doing everyday : your duty as a Police Officer is to stop them from doing these activities.
You can find criminals by Responding to emergency calls or simply patrolling in the streets.
You'll receive an alert with the type of crime/felony committed, the suspect name and id, the location and some details (vehicle name, color , …).
Responding to calls using Y will give you a GPS point.
You'll earn 5XP points once you arrive on scene.
Some players can play as Drug Dealer : they are selling drugs to NPC's to gain money and XP, but as you know drugs are bad and as a Police Officer, your duty is to fight against that.
To catch a drug dealer :
Sometimes, some drugs dealers are already wanted on their spot, you can simply arrest them.
Using an unmarked vehicle will help you : civilians won't see your marker/name as blue until you get close enough or turn on your siren.
The first duty of a police officer is to arrest criminals. To arrest a suspect you need to be near the criminal and press X to handcuff them.
The bonus is granted when you transport the suspect by yourself to a Police Station.
It's better to use the tazer on a suspect to stun and handcuff them instead of killing them (you'll earn more money)
Keep in mind that the suspect can resist the arrest once every ≈20 seconds !

You are able to forcefully enter warehouses if you spot a suspect enter. If a wanted suspect knocks at someone's warehouse and they let them enter, you're also able to enter that player's warehouse.

The arrest menu, accessible via X is a menu reserved to Police Officers that allows you to :
The criminals can give you cash to lose their wanted level : you can accept, deny or ignore their offer. When a suspect wants to bribe you, you'll see a notification on your left corner, and when you open the bribing menu, you can :
You can also suggest them to bribe with the arrest menu or simply by opening your interaction menu near them with E.

Some suspects will not give you any other choice than to use your lethal weapon against them.
According to the CNRV full rules, you are allowed to shoot a suspect only in few cases :
⚠️ You are not allowed to shoot a suspect who is surrendering on their knees !

As a police officer, you have access to a radio which allow you to speak with other Police Officers and Paramedics
To catch criminals you need to work as a team with others.
If you don't want to speak in the voice chat, you can send text messages in radio channels: prefix your message with an exclamation mark !
Example : ! I need backup in Grove Street, 1 active shooter
You can access this menu via your job menu (M → Job menu) or with the /radio command.
You can turn it on/off and select the volume of the radio inside this menu.

2 - Emergency (Sandy Shores) » Default radio channel when you are patrolling in Sandy Shores.
3 - Emergency (Paleto Bay) » Default radio channel when you are patrolling in Paleto Bay.
4 - Alt #1 (any language) » This radio channel can be used by non-english speakers.
5 - Alt #2 (any language) » This radio channel can be used by non-english speakers.
6 - Reserved 1 » This radio channel will only appear if you are Level 20+.
7 - Reserved 2 » This radio channel will only appear if you are Level 20+.
→ Play with someone : it's the best way to catch every criminal who wants to resist arrest.
→ Use the radio : listen to the radio to know where other officers need help and ask for help when you need it.
→ Be prepared with your tazer out : when another officer is arresting the suspect, they can resist arrest.
→ Turn your emergency lights on when you park : your vehicle can't be impounded if your emergency lights are on.
→ Turn off your siren : you can use the /siren command to turn off your siren.
→ Always restock before going on patrol and after dying.
